Music
mu fa or

mu fa or is a multifarious organism comprised of Magenta and Wobbly. Magenta sings abstract and improvised vocals into a microphone; Wobbly samples and multiplies those vocals into a forest menagerie - a tracking shot of an eagle flying through a valley of mirrors, listening to its own songs reflected back into the sky.

About the artists
Magenta
Magenta channels vocals from the heart of the wild creature in all of us. Some of her influences are Tuvan throat singing, Baka forest people, Meredith Monk, Magma, indigenous healing music, and the synesthetic sound of everything-all-at-one-time. When playing live (and walking down the street), she invites everyone to sing along, to remind people that it's normal to sing together. She works as the executive director of Bloom Network, a global social network for regenerative culture.
Wobbly
Wobbly is the long-running collage project of Jon Leidecker, who improvises live with pre-recordings to coax the harmonies out of recorded sounds of individuals and animals from disparate cultures. He's released albums on the labels Tigerbeat6, Illegal Art, Alku and Phthalo, and collaborations include Matmos and Otomo Yoshihide. He joined Negativland in 2011 and continues to tour and record with them; he also hosts their weekly Over the Edge broadcast on KPFA. In 2009 he was commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona to produce Variations, a podcast and lecture series overview of the history of musical collage & sampling. Wobbly does 360 audio design and engineering testing. He helped make Dolby's Atmos System, and Pro Tools.
Jon Leidecker performs music under the inevitable pseudonym of Wobbly, exploring the various ways in which our experience of music changed once we gained the ability to record it. Live and studio collaborations include albums and concerts with Dieter Moebius & Tim Story, Fred Frith, Matmos, The Freddy McGuire Show, and Huun-Huur-Tu.
